Sometimes we come across older threads and wonder what ever happened to certain posters or what types of resolutions did they come to when searching for answers about topics like "where should I move to"?

How has your life changed since you first joined City-Data? What were your initial reasons for joining CD? Did you find the answers you were looking for and have your perceptions changed over time about different cities, locales, and the people who live there?

I had always dreamed of Rep Points as a child.

C-D has helped make my dreams a reality, as I now hold several coveted Rep Points and am generally a big deal here on the interwebz.

I discovered that Canada is a better country than America and that we have no meaningful culture.

I spend less time on Facebook because I've found a more interesting way to procrastinate on my work.

I'm realizing that more and more my views about life and culture are perceived as antiquated...backward if you will, when compared to the more common viewpoints expressed by this membership.

I am pleased about that.

I've learned that people like to say:
- hands down
-blows away
-world class
-and that New York City, San Francisco, and Denver can do wrong.
