What are the safest metro areas? Not safest cities,but metro areas as a whole. I have been trying to find up to date stats regarding the safest metro areas.Not the areas that FEEL safest,but the areas that actually are the safest statistically.
Search google for safest Metros. i know Minneapolis and Detroit are always near the top. Detroit suburbs are very safe for the most part contrary to the city itself.
El Paso, Texas, CERTIFIED safest city in America, and All American City award recipient.
Go figure, El Paso! Must be all the Border Patrols and 3 military installations (Bliss, Biggs, Castner).
Texas Rangers is also a plus, they don't eff around!
Yeah, right....Just to clear things up for those that may be confused, the higher on the list, the better.
Ah. Then this thing must be a couple years out of date, Utah crime is in my local news a lot lately, definitely wouldn't consider it the safest, safest from natural disaster maybe. But hey, at least people don't get shot on the freeway there!

Always been impressed with El Paso's crime statistics, given its proximity to Juarez, and lack of well paying employment opprotunities.
Madison, Wisconsin is considered one of the safest metro areas.
