I know this has been asked before, but I am wonder which states are generally the friendliest? I don't mean certain areas of states, but states in which generally everywhere you go, everyone is friendly.

For me it would be between:
Michigan
New Jersey
Florida
California
Illinois

That's just me though.

I would definitely agree with Michigan and Florida. Is New Jersey friendly? I know it has a reputation as a state, whether it is true or not, however I don't know. I've never been there.

Texas is definitely one of the friendliest states I have been to. So is the state to the North of TX...Oklahoma.

Michigan and Illinois could be considered friendly, in a reserved Midwestern sort of way. However the other states on that list are usually not associated with friendliness. Those other three states have strong reputations for different things no doubt.

Texans are friendly as long as you stay off the topic of how Texas compares to other states. If you get on that topic you better stick with the meme that Texas is the best.

How is Texas in terms of neighborhoods? I hate these planned neighborhoods in AZ.
