We had one in St.Louis years ago that only showed "hard pore corn" as Archie Bunker called them. Real XXX rated movies. They had canvas on all the chain link fences and It seemed there were just as many people standing around the outside peeking thru holes in the canvas as there were parked inside. Every once in awhile, cops would raid the place and cars would come pouring out of there like the Indy 500. They finally tore it down and made a junk yard out of it. I think the only one left is the one Perseusveil mentioned in Belleville.
Our city (60,000) doesn't have any kind of theater, there is one sit-down theater in the next city 6 miles one direction, two 7 miles in the other. Our entire state has only 4 drive ins now, in Auburn (35 miles), Port Townsend (123 miles including a ferry), Shelton (94 miles) and Colville (340 miles).
Seattle does have the world's first automated car wash, though!
