so... many of you are thinking this is a ridiculous post. BUT...i havent had too much luck any other way. On the Austin forums many posters say Austin has lost/is losing its small town feel with the hordes of people flocking there and the traffic. So, currently which city is most like the old Austin? The "weird" Austin? If you had to choose a city, which one do you think has the most in common with Austin?

As soon as people find out, it won't be the new Austin, so keep it a secret if one exists...

You know, polka is really making a comeback. So I would say New Ulm, Minnesota, the Polka Capital of the World. They also call themselves the "City of Charm and Tradition."

Here's their website: City of New Ulm, Minnesota --

New Ulm Chamber of Commerce

Good luck!

Polka? Oh, dear...I don't think that's what the OP had in mind, judging by their last thread.
