What's worse: Living in a place that has brutal summers or brutal winters? (rooftop, best)

If you have plenty of indoor projects to carry you through the winter, enjoy baking/cooking, ��
reading a few good books, �� watching some movies during daylight savings time, then winter IMO is more tolerable, than not being able to go outside because the air is so hot its suffocating, your privates are burnt from sweating, and it continues by toweling off from the shower you just took to cool down... When its so hot you think the paint is about to melt off the side of your house. You can't escape what feels like a Twilight Zone episode of the world ending in unstoppable temps..
There is nowhere to run or hide.. when it feels hot inside even with the air conditioner running full blast.. well
I think its easier to control the comfort of winter with careful planning,
rather than living in relentless heat. ��
Brutal heat is more survivable. (Which is why American cities with large homeless populations tend to be ones with fair warm weather.)
Brutal winter kills quickly- due to many factors.
BTW medical science did study these factors and determined for an aging person, life in a cold climate extends an average human's lifespan, since a lot of illnesses that shorten life spread more quickly in hot climates.
A brutally cold winter is tougher to endure, personally. Add in shortened days with long darkness, cold winds and ice and snow, and it is pretty miserable.
I give huge props to folks who live in cities like Toronto, Montreal in Canada, and here in the states, folks who live in Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St Paul and Chicago. Brutal winters that I just can't deal with for long durations of time.
I'd easily live in super hot/humid cities like Miami, New Orleans, or Orlando, or a place with super hot dry heat of Phoenix, over the frigid cities, any day of the week.
Brutal summers suck. It's the time of year when the kids are out of school and looking to do things. You can only go to the lake and the mall so many times before it gets boring. Adding layers when it's cold is a lot easier than removing them when it's hot.
Brutal winters are awful imo. Especially if you live in a place that’s not scenic. A cold winter in a flat place is miserable to me.
