Does anyone know which American towns or cities have a European feel and look? I'd like to visit them. I've been to "Danish" Solvang in California, "Spanish" St. Augustine in Florida, and "Austrian" Stowe in Vermont (well, only some places in Stowe have an Alpine feel, not the entire town). I've been to Quebec, Canada, too, but right now I'd like to visit "European" towns in the US. Any ideas?

"German" Leavenworth in Washington. Beautiful in the winter time. Totally feels like a village somewhere in the Alps.

You can try Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia.

That is the closest to European feel I've experienced in the U.S. (Not counting Renaissance festivals and such)

If you count Canada - Victoria, British Columbia even though it looks more American/Canadian than English.

Vail, Colorado - Obviously a tourist development, but still cool to stroll through.
St. Louis - Soulard neighborhood
Santa Fe - Strong Spanish influence
Charlestown
Many northeastern cities have 19th century neighborhoods that feel European. Boston comes to mind first.

But the two places that felt the most historic, the most European, to me at least, were...

New Orleans - French Quarter.
Old San Juan

Boston's Beacon Hill, Charlestown, Back Bay, North End, Harvard Square all seem pretty European. The rest though, not so much, but that doesn't make it bad.

It's not American but Quebec City is the most European-feeling city on this continent.

That412, I totally agree! I've traveled all over Europe many times and can tell the same thing.

Thank you all for the great ideas! If anyone has more ideas, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Like a little Rhine village on the Missouri River - Nice wineries, sausage makers, 2 micro breweries

Oktoberfest every weekend in October and a nice Maifest
