Hi, I really liked the size and atmosphere of Lexington, KY and Tallahassee when I lived there, but I would like to move to the coast, ideally to an area without snow. Can anyone suggest any coastal cities/towns that resemble these cities? I know Tallahassee's pretty darn close to the coast, but I'd love to know if something comparable is closer. Thanks.

Have you looked into Wilmington NC?

It would help if we knew what you liked about the 2 cities, also what your budget is and what kind of job you need, if any.

Tallahassee has a population of 180K and Lexington is at 310K, so you would probably want to look at cities that have a similar size comparison. Jacksonville would be a good option and even though officially with a population around 850K it's for the whole county versus the city. The city itself is close in size and feel to Tallahassee or Lexington, with warmer weather obviously and has a coastal vibe.

Jacksonville does not feel like Tallahassee. JAX feels like a major metropolitan city and Tallahassee a college city.

Perhaps Charleston SC around the college campuses or the same in terms of the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of VA(maybe around say Old Dominion University, William and Mary, etc.).
