Agree. I'd add, there's not much driving "against traffic' any more, unless one is going outside the metro area, e.g. to Loveland/Ft. Collins to the north or Colorado Springs to the south. And then, it's more like "less traffic" both ways rather than against it. There is a lot of traffic from suburb to suburb, with a clump going into the city in the morning and vice versa. Same with Boulder, lots of traffic both going in and coming out AM and PM.

Rush hour in Fort Lauderdale, FL goes from about 4 to 7 in the afternoon and about 7 to 9 in the morning. Busy on a grand scale, but the traffic moves. I found this picture of rush hour.

This is on trains and buses though, since that's what I take daily. I don't own a car, yuk, I'd go nuts in the traffic! I just read a book, listen to music, or sleep on the way to work.

I think for driving it starts around 6am, and goes until maybe 10am. Things pick up very quickly starting around 2:30-3pm, and don't die down until maybe 7pm.
It's a LOT worse on the highways than on the train. Your estimates are fairly accurate.

Fridays in Cincinnati are nuts! What is it, all those Michiganders heading south, I guess?

I-75 through downtown and Kentucky is heavy a good part of any day with a lot of trucks. But mostly in Cincinnati, rush hour is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

Traffic coming out of Boulder in the evening is ridiculous, especially along 36. It's not picnic going into Boulder in the morning, either.

Good point, lol. My joke is that rush hour starts at 1 in the afternoon and ends at 3 because thats when all of the part time janitors get home.
