the fact that Philly, Boston & DC are not listed makes this a joke.

Why on earth should Seattle not be on the list? Culturally I love it here in Seattle.

And what about Omaha? We have a huge music scene, tons of museums, the old market, and many historic places and I'm not sure if you would count this two but the CWS and one of the best zoos in the country. I know Omaha might not have as much culture as the rest of these cities but it should at least be listed.

Dude you are giving Houston WAAYYY too much credit. Yes it is a huge city and has the cultural amenities to go along with it, but placing it on a pedastal with Chicago and NYC is laughable. Miami is the gateway to Latin America and is an international tourist destination. Seattle shaped the 90's arguably as much as any other city in the country, and has a very established "image". I seriously don't know why you are hating so much, is it because you feel persecuted?

I agree... I didn't vote for Houston though... But NYC win everything...it shouldn't be on half these lists because everyone know is going to win... This is not a stab at NYC, it more of a compliment...you guys win everything!! grr!!!
Except who has the manliest accent...Dallas P00ned 2 that...LOL

that being said, I do sort of agree... Houston does not have an identity as far and JUST Houston...when I think of culture, you think of the way people do stuff everyday or the content of the city like art or architecture...a seperate Identity, even if it is a stereotype...like When I think of Miami...I think of a Spring break scene... except Year round. A Crime rate, size of the city, demographics of the city, don't make an impression...
I can't see daily life in Houston, and perhaps since you live there it is obvious... but a city with culture... San Diego, I see a whole bunch of beach bums and skating by the beach...it may not be true...but culture..has a different definition with anyone...so the world 'culture' seems vague... See like Dallas, does not seem to have much 'culture'... the city... a city with culture would hit me as Santa Fe...maybe thats cause I've been there.

Dallas gives off a "urban" cowboy image/feel to me.I agree with you on Houston, Houston doesn't get much publicity so people don't understand how diverse and how much it has to offer.

Actualluy I didn't pyut Houston at the level as NYC or Chicago, we here in Houston don't know why certain people hate Houston so much. Maybe it is because we have passed by cities like Seattle or something. Stop the hate!

Houston does not have much publicity because Houston does a terrible job of marketing itself. People are questioning Houston being on the list because they don't know what Houston has to offer. It's not their fault kinda (people do need to visit instead of throwing out countless claims against the city) but it's the city of Houston fault for not telling people about it's city. There is tons of culture in Houston. However, to say Miami or Seattle doesn't have culture is completely false. To drag down Seattle and pump up Houston is not helping your argument whatsoever. Seattle has tons of culture itself.
