Which of the following do you consider to be a more beautiful region of the US?

1. Pacific Northwest: Rocky coasts, huge evergreens and redwoods, volcanoes, snow-covered mountains, gorges, waterfalls. Think: Washington, Oregon, Northern California

OR

2. Appalachia: Rolling mountains, thick green forests, color-changing leaves, wide-open spaces, creeks, lakes, and waterfalls. Think: Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia]

Actually, I was thinking Pennsylvania and New England. It was a close call between the two regions, though. The Pacific Northwest is nice enough.... but I chose Appalachia, because I could easily see myself living there over the northwest.

You should add a sub-category for Central Kentucky's Horse Country

although the scenery in the Pacific NW is more magnificent to me, I like the colors of trees in the Southern states during the Fall much more with the red, orange leaves.

Default Both Areas are Nice

I've just got to go with the PNW. I mean I live here. There's a lot of wild beauty
to be found around the next bend in the road.

Actually, the Appalachian Mountains extend all the way from Georgia to Pennsylvania, New York, New England, and on into Canada.

I grew up in the Appalachia area and now live in the PNW. I prefer the fall colors and true 4 seasons of the Appalachias.

Pacific Northwest has higher snow-capped peaks, redwoods, incredible foliage, and even volcanoes.

It wins hands down. Plus, even the cities are beautiful. Seattle and Vancouver are GORGEOUS!
