No, Tennessee is not a deep south state. Memphis and much of southwestern TN is the exception to the rule, however.

It may have characteristics of it in parts of the metro area. But it's not the Deep South.

I don't know. Sometimes, when I hear people talk about East Texas, Houston is included while other times it is not.
