The title kind of says it all. What are some fairly conservative cities/large towns with a decent job market/economies on or near the east coast. Weather is not important. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.
I live in Charlotte's west suburbs. The city of Charlotte itself is moderate to a little to the left. The suburbs all around Charlotte are pretty conservative. Generally speaking, we all get along quite well, even when there are differences of opinion. I'm conservative and love it here. I have a good many liberal friends and we respect each other. The economy is good here too.
Other areas that come to mind would be Virginia Beach and Nashville.
Right now I would say Jacksonville FL, Richmond VA and Charleston SC are leading the pack in terms of current/projected growth if seeking more "middle of the road" cities politically on the east coast. There aren't really any truly conservative cities along the coast, that are progressing economically anyway.

the affluent suburbs in the south generally are Republican areas.
