I'm 2 hours from pdx, but I'm happy to start at our smaller local airport and connect. That one is 20 minutes from home and there is never traffic.

We're getting bigger planes to sfo now too, which is great.

15 Mins from MEM

Hard to believe that just 4 years ago you could fly to Europe from Memphis. I wish I could have been here when NWA was still around.

3.5 miles, about 8-10 minutes and I'm my way to Europe or Asia!

It's barely an $8 Uber ride

We won't ever be at the airport to pick up folks before the plane lands. The rule as they know or are informed is that you text or call as soon as you land and we'll be there from our house likely before you make it out to the sidewalk. That way we are never waiting for a late flight.

About 15 minutes from MDT. (It's international because it has a flight to YYZ, which we actually took connecting from CDG so not quite as silly as it sounds)

That's what's so great about San Diego, airport is right there. It just sucks living under the flight path

Yes, we love being so close and yes, we can hear and see the planes coming in but we are just north of the flight path so it really isn't an issue. Once in a while a young cowboy pilot flying for Southwest will come in too far north and give us a flyby but that is uncommon. A neighbor/buddy of ours who is a senior captain for Delta will be the first to call that in if he is in town haha. That the airport pretty well shuts down by 11:00 helps as well.

Being a bit of a plane geek I do enjoy watching the 747 400 coming in from London every day and the 787 Dreamliner from Tokyo.

Yeah I lived in Bankers Hill right under the flight path for a year. It's funny though, you actually don't even notice them after a while. But I think if I spent any more time living there I'd probably go deaf, LOL. I must say, before I lived there I used to get really anxious about flying. Doesn't happen anymore. Once you see dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of planes safely landing, it sort of cures it.

Cleveland: 45 mins.
Orlando: 30 mins.
Tampa: 45 mins.

Doesn't really affect travel plans since I don't have the time/money to travel on a weekly basis even if I was right next door, though the planespotting would be cool then.

I've made it to LAX in just under an hour in ideal traffic conditions. Often, it's more like 75 minutes.

I'm only 30 minutes from SNA (Orange County), but I don't consider that a "true" international airport.

Milage-wise I am about 20 miles out from Charlotte-Douglas. Time-wise can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes depending on the time of day and whether it's a holiday or not. Whenever the light rail finally reaches the airport I will probably just take that, assuming I'm still living here when that happens. It will definitely be easier going to and leaving the airport.
