I was wondering what are some middle-class areas where the majority of residents like to emulate upscale-super facial materialistic lifestyle.
To me I would say Colorado Springs and Denver are full of people who live celebrity lifestyles with expensive european-cars and lots of expensive mortgages.
In fact the median household debt in Colorado Springs is $73,600 while the median household income was $57,000.
Denver is another metro area which is a bankers delight as they have a median household debt of $77,000. The median household income in Metro Denver is $66,000.
Ironically, Los Angeles which many consider to be superficial has far lower household debt then Colorado Springs or Denver. Los Angeles has a median household debt of $64,000.
Another place that is middle-class where the residents live very upscale lifestyles is Utah County, Utah. I don't consider the people there to be that snobby in person, but many of them love huge homes, huge SUV's and huge boats. The median household debt is $68,000 in the Provo area.

I have to admit I lived in Colorado before and it is stunning the amount of extreme super-facial snobbery that I have encountered compared to years past.
The state has had an economic boom since around 2010 but the pretentious mentality of the residents is incredible. I grew up in Colorado Springs and Denver and left in 2001. I thought the residents back then were down to earth but now they have a wolf of wall street mentality.
Back in the 1990s it was very common to see old-clunkers in Colorado and now it's a bonanza of luxury cars.
Many people in Colorado and Utah are Donald Trump mind-set with the superfacial, bizzare behavior.
I also consider Phoenix a very pretentious metropolitan area. It is economically growing very fast but the residents are very pretentious. The keep up with the Jones mentality is huge in Phoenix especially when it comes to vehicles.
Judging by the debt-chart it looks like Boise also has a very high household debt for the income of the area.
Are there any other middle-class metropolitan areas where the locals try to live in a celebrity, reality show lifestyle?

Phoenix area wins the crown no question. Land of the $40k millionaire. Heck, I'd even say they put the image over the money behind it. If you actually make good money but don't look the part, forget it.
