Because they like buying property in an area with unstable resources.

Mornings and evenings aren't hot in the SE/SW US (unless you think temps in the 60s/70s are hot).

It was 90 degrees at 8 AM today at PHX Airport. Might have been slightly cooler outside of the heat island, but not much. Since then, it's gotten hotter (96 at 10 AM).

In Phoenix today, it will be 100 degrees at 9pm. At 9am tomorrow, it will be 95 degrees. That's hot as hell.

Well, in that case, the exercise can be done anytime from midnight to sunrise, when temps are low enough. If dry heat works as said, then the conditions might not be all that stifling.

You are absolutely correct. I've been going on runs this past week around phoenix (outside) when the sun goes down around 7:30ish, it has not been uncomfortable for me and the conditions were not stifling at all. I always love it when people from the south or midwest comment on the hot summer in Phoenix, makes m chuckle having spent multiple uncomfortable summers in Virginia and DC. I just got back form OKC, it was high 90s 60-70 percent humidity...I felt like I was in the 9th layer of hell the whole time ! Give me 105 in Phoenix/Vegas/ SF valley anyday over 93 in OKC.

Oh it's deff not, at least when it's REALLY hot. I've done it before in the morning, wasn't all too bad, but I have hiked Camelback mountain around noon in the dead of summer when I was in high school, never again. There are plenty of people who do hike daily in the summer here though, and they seem to be just fine.I've noticed that a lot of the people who have died hiking here have been British and German tourists who are not accustomed to hot temps and therefore don't hydrate properly.
