This is not a political thread, but not sure if it belongs in P&OC.

Someone did a thread on most recognizable states. So this thread kind of goes along with that a little bit. Basically trying to find out: which state governors are most well-known?

Do not look anything up or read the other responses! I can name 5 current governors (CA, TX, NY, PA, IL). I incorrectly named the prior FL and NJ governors and did not know the current ones. I would list the ones I know, but I don't want to give away any answers here, but it is okay to list them! Good luck!

I follow national politics probably more than the average Joe. These are the names that either come up in national stories or I have personal ties to.

Wow, I would say you are the exception rather than the norm! (: I follow the news a little, and remember some of the names that come up more frequently.

I can name far more former governors than the current ones. There are an awful lot of first term governors who haven't done much to be known nationally. With current ones, I can give you the New England governors and New York.

are the ones I can think of. Some like AL, GA, and VA as they've been in the news recently for controversial reasons. I'd probably be able to name a lot more US Senators.

Maybe a couple-three off the top of my head. Increasingly indifferent towards politics.
Like the “spiritual but not religious” crowd, I have opinions, but am turned off by organized politics.

Had to rack my brain for a couple of these, so thanks for the morning mental exercise.

Connecticut has a new governor, Neil Lamont, as of this year.
