True:
- High levels of petty/non-gang-related crime (haven't watched Reno 911 but I gather that's what it's about)
Not true:
- Low cost of living
- Palm trees/flat desert/super hot all the time/other climatic features associated with Vegas (we are 7 hours north of Vegas)
Michigan is controlled by the auto industry. Pretty much still true.
Not in the northern half of the state and the upper peninsula.
