We relocated once to PA from Ohio but now have the chance to relocate anywhere! Our wishlist includes a place that has/is...
-great schools
-low crime
-warmer weather year round
-near a large lake or ocean
-near good/large businesses in case job situations change
Thanks!

What about other factors, such as smog, mosquitoes, cost of living, property tax, income tax, sales tax, cost of electricity and natural gas, etc.?

St Johns County (southeast suburb of Jax, FL) would nail your rather short wish list. #1 school district in the state, low crime, ~11 months of >60 degree weather, on the ocean, good job opportunities for a mid-sized metro. The negatives are that it's on the expensive side for a very low cost metro (so still relatively cheap), it's very suburban and not terribly diverse.

Nassau County (north suburb of Jax) is more suburban/rural and is another option as the #2 school district in the state. Clay County (southwest of Jax) is also a decent district. Duval County (the central county) would offer many more lifestyle options but the schools would have to be navigated much more carefully, as well as neighborhoods regarding crime.
