But you claimed that people who say they are proud to be where they are from have low self-esteem. I'd like to see a source for that claim.

I don't know, what other metro's suburbs is super car friendly, yet has extensive rail, bus, and even bikesharing networks? And edge cities within the suburbs? And while there's sprawl, it's pretty dense for the suburbs.

New York is in a different league, so is LA. I really can't think of any. As I said in another thread, DC really is its own thing to me, including the suburbs. Generally, DC's suburbs are like everyone else's, but if you look at it on a technical level, I say they're more unique for the most part.

Yeh I took offence to that statement also. Most people who have "low self esteem" would never be happy being from anywhere. Thats not a logical conclusion to me.

The answer is Atlanta, hands down.
I agree. Physically, demographically and even employment wise (Metro Atlanta has the highest concentration of federal government employees outside of DC).

I've seen that a lot but have trouble locating a source for it. Do you happen to have one?

Thanks for that.

If they're only using city limits, that would exclude the CDC for Atlanta (which should be annexed in the near future) so that would actually boost Atlanta's raw numbers.

Definitely. Of the CDC's 14,000 employees, approximately 6,900 are based in Atlanta across the two campuses (includes the new Buford Hwy complex).
