Yeah. I would add Miami...if you were counting the metro area. You need Miami Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and a few other areas included to make it cosmopolitan.
It's the center of a very parochial area, the Pacific Northwest.
Los Angeles is kind of questionable because of the old joke often told by Northeasterners "What's the difference between yogurt and L.A.? Yogurt has culture!"
Chicago's beauty is it's blandness--basically Americana.

Wow, I hope your thoughts on LA on that joke because you find it funny, because if not, oh boy, there's something wrong with you.

I don't go to L.A. to visit museums, plays, or whatever that's usually done on the East Coast or somewhere else in the East. I go there to relax and enjoy the weather. I visit the beach, see a little Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Downtown L.A., look at the mountains, etc.
Just another UNINFORMED Houston hater! I would delete Seattle, the cosmopolitan cities in the US are NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, Washington, Houston, Boston, Philly and a tie between Dallas and Miami! In that order
I'd say the only cosmo cities in the U.S. are: NYC, Chicago, San Fran, LA, DC, Miami. IMHO, Boston, Dallas, Philly and Houston don't qualify. To me being cosmopolitan is part of what makes a city "world class". Sorry, no one has ever accused Boston, Dallas, Philly, or Houston of being "world class" cities. I mean they're are all top tier north American class cities, but "world class", I think not.
I am really suprised that nobody has mentioned Minneapolis. Suprisingly Minneapolis has a very large cosmopolitan vibe and look to it, much more than most cities I have been to.
Oh PLEASE! I like Minneapolis as much as the next guy, but I also know a wannbes when I see one. Who's next, I suppose Dallas is cosmopolitan also.
You don't get out much do you jesse. The reason L.A. doesn't have, and will never have, any culture is because it has no soul. Beneath the surface there's nothing there. Nothing to nourish the mind, or soul(just the body, how superficial). The city is a parasite eating away at any and everything of substance. That's the difference between L.A. and NYC or Chi, San Fran, Boston, Philly, DC, etc. L.A. is a water crest salad, the other cities are smorgasbords! LOL! L.A. is a one note tune, the others cities are symphonies! LOL!

Chicago, L.A., D.C., and Miami are not cosmo cities. Chicago is too bland, L.A. uncultured, D.C. has only one purpose, and Miami is a third-world country in the U.S.

You clearly don't know much about the Pacific Northwest.
