^Right. I gave a list of cities that certainly are not remote in the normal sense. But I simply couldn't live in a truly remote area, unless maybe "living" could be defined as a 2-week mission somewhere lol.

But realistically, it's kind of sad that people actually consider these places "remote" even by their standards.

Does Denver count as remote if Colorado Springs is nearby, but no other major cities for hundreds of miles? I'm thinking of moving there eventually.

I could do somewhere like Fargo or Missoula if it were for a finite time, like a year.

My place at a Vermont ski resort is 20 minutes to the grocery store and emergency room of a small hospital. A big box store better than Walmart is an hour. Fine as a vacation home but more remote than I’d prefer as I approach retirement. My summer house is 2 miles to the grocery store, 10 minutes to the mall and big box stores. 3 miles to the emergency room. Uber. Grocery delivery if I wanted it. Commuter rail to Boston is coming in four years.
