I am wondering if leaving my State of CT would benefit me. I always dwell on this. I feel the State is to congested and overly developed. With exception being a few small areas in the Northeastern and Northwestern part of the State are rural. In addition to, COL is high, property values are high, and taxes are high. Weather is not terrible. Late January to Mid March winter kicks in to gear, but outside of that weather is decent.
Wondering if there is a State that is not overly developed, not congested, and low to no income & sales tax.
I am counting the minutes until I leave Ohio and go back to Maine, the taxes are not exactly low but the problems I have here will not be problems there.
Currently reside in Arkansas and want out within 3 years. Debating between Tennessee or Colorado due to low taxes and great economies. I'm thinking middle Tennessee may for me

I love Maine. Taxes are high, wages are low, decent job market, and property value is a toss up. Love New Hampshire to decent wages and taxes are comparable to where I currently live. Job market though is not as large and property values are high.
Yes. Washington is one of the most amazing places on earth, I will not deny that. Unfortunately for me, it comes second to California. Ready to move to the Bay Area ASAP
I have a huge love/hate relationship with New York, however the taxes are THE highest in the nation, home prices/rent prices are a killer, corrupt government, terrible terrible traffic, and harsh winters. I do love the food though, and NYC is a great city.
I'd love to live in California (though expensive it isn't as bad as southern NY), Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or maybe a midwest state like Missouri or Indiana.
I currently live in NYC and have recently had to come to terms with the fact that this city has totally kicked my butt. I've been trying for far too long to "make it here," as the song goes, but I am beaten.
I love so much about it, but 30+ years of just working to survive is exhausting, to say the least. I can never take advantage of all the wonderful things there are to do here because the workday is long or everything is just too expensive. I used to be excited about living here, but now it makes me feel like a failure. Plus I don't want to live in a place that is a major target for terrorists anymore. So I am researching where to go.
I want to live somewhere that has affordable rents, lower COL, decent salaries, a vibrant and walkable downtown, and where I wouldn't have to work two jobs just to pay my rent. I want time to myself, to have a life outside of trying to pay my bills, and mostly to actually be able to save some money. Don't know where I'll wind up, but I've begun investigating!
