I thought the Gangster Disciples were the most organized. I watched a history channel thing on them anyway.
Not a bright idea to use the TV as a source. GD means absolutely nothing these days and some kill eachother. Chicago gangs or shall i say clicks seem to only care about murdering their enemies more than anything else. They arent really doing what an organized crime group normally does.
Organized crime to me is a gang or crew who is dangerous but puts money before everything. An organized crime crew is also unique. For example BMF operated mostly in Detroit and Atlanta but you do not see a bunch of different BMFs in other regions like you would for crips and bloods who are just regular street gangs. When I see bloods, crips, gds, or bds, nothing about them show me organized crime.
Other examples of organized crime can be the Haitian Zoe pound in Miami, Jamaican Yardies from back in the day. Pratically ever single infamous Harlem or NYC drug crew in the late 80,s, BMF, Ralo from Atlanta etc.

They're 1 of the most organized street organizations and also Vice Lords, Black Souls, New Breeds, BPS, BDs, & Mickey Cobras. However, MCs & VLs are undoubtedly the oldest most structured street organizations in Chicagoland.

The definition of organized crime is ambiguous. Generally speaking it will be the type & scale of the group's activities. By using your initial description then street gangs will qualify as well. I think people tend to pay more to their behavior/style more than the racketeers/hustlers involved in major activities. Street gangs have been involved in major regional trafficking & distribution networks from state to state. Along with prostitution, arms trafficking, real estate investment, money laundering, and fraud. I refer to them as the trail mix of the underworld ( small time freelancers to large scale traffickers). Every known syndicates have worked with them as well ( La Cosa Nostra ,Cartels, other syndicates).
Zoe Pound still exist and Jamaican Posses/Massives have a presence in Canada, England, & Haiti.
