Memphis, Tennessee: its regional fair moved to Mississippi several years ago. Its hockey team also played in Mississippi, but as of 2018 its hockey team has suspended operations.
NYC obviously has the majority of its metropolitan area in northern New Jersey.
Most of NJ's (NYC Metro Area) retirees are in Florida, but NJ has a ton of retirees as it is.
Philadelphia obviously has part of its metropolitan area in southern New Jersey.
Washington D.C. has its metro area in two different states Maryland and northern Virginia, because Washington D.C. is a district, which is just the city itself and not a state, so its metro area obviously had to sprawl somewhere.
Part of St. Louis' metro area is in Illinois, because it was built too close to the Missouri/Illinois border.
