Between LA and Santa Barbara in one of those houses that are so close to the ocean you can get your feet wet if you open the glass wall-like doors.

I'm not sure I've seen a home like that there. Most of the houses are on cliffs or at least, hundreds of feet from the water's edge.

Saw one on Trulia that looked to be at most 10ft away from the shore. It may have been a few feet off the ground but no more than a few.
