I am very interested in both of these states and also the cowboy culture. I was wondering which state would be better to move to for a law enforcement job, I have a bachelors in criminal justice and which state has more cowboys in it? and which cities have more cowboys?
Where in wyoming and Montana are the most "cowboys"? Are there "cowboys" up in the flathead lake area in montana?
Both states are rural, farming/ranch states. A ton of land, and people living off that land. Your question about "cowboys" isn't relative and isn't needed. "Cowboys" comes from the age of cowboys and Indians, unless you're 10 years old, join the real world

The cowboy culture in both states is not the romanticized notion people tend to have. They're ranchers but not traditional 1800s cowboys.

There are ranchers in both states in all parts of the states. I'd ask on the individual forums for more detailed information on the states. Feel free to PM me if you want too. I've lived in both states!

To be honest, I prefer North Dakota over both of them. As far as cost of living and salary, Wyoming is the better bet. I'm not sure which is best for law enforcement.

I would choose Wyoming. The salaries are higher there and it's retained more of a western feel than Montana which is probably coming closer in recent years to Colorado in terms of feel/lifestyle. Towns like Cody, Gillette and Douglas will give you the feel you're likely after.
