What's wrong with brick housing? It holds up much better than any other building material.

Despite there being a number of brick homes, they don't make up a majority. Lots of vinyl and wood.

I don't enjoy mowing lawns or going to church. You get the idea. I didn't fit in b/c I don't belong there.
You prefer a barren landscape, or the typical meditteranean landscape of the southern California coast?

You can keep it. Most of the trees are not natural, rather planted. That includes all of your Eukalyptus and Palm trees.

The Ozarks are a subregion of both the South and the Midwest. The same i think could be said for Appalachia, which also is a subregion of the Northeast.

Not sure what you mean by that. I don't ski, surf, sail, or hike to impress others. But even if it is conformity, I gladly welcome it. I hate the South.

Oh, experience has taught me that if you hate an area, it's really your problem not theirs. I'm pretty sure that, in another 3-5 years, you'll hate wherever you are, too.

I don't buy that at all. When I lived in California for 10 years I loved every minute of it. B/C of a job I moved to the South and didn't like it much. I made some good friends, but I love the Ocean, mountains, dry weather, and the California culture. I've know Southerners who moved to the West and missed the South and left for home. I'm a westerner and don't BELONG in the South.

Bible Belt is often used when referencing much of the south east. Isn't Texas in Tornado Alley or something like that
