And my post was to show him his perception could possibly be wrong with some proof that he may appreciate. He may not be familiar with the areas I showed.

Why would you assume his observation would be off..its obvious he's been there a few time and people can and will have different opinions. Perhaps your just bothered that someone has a different opinion then yours?

Yet again, he said he had the impression that the areas inside the Perimeter weren't very forested. I provided links showing that they indeed are, and had the unmitigated gall to point the links out to him.
I wonder why Charlotte is not coming up as underrated then if Atlanta is since they look the same.. hmm.
Charlotte doesn't have many posters that are active in the General U.S./City vs City subforums. Also the northern suburbs of Atlanta are closer to the mountains so you get more rolling terrain and even some mountain views in the exurbs whereas that's not really the case for any of Charlotte's suburbs/exurbs.

There are parts of Charlotte burbs that are extremely hilly in Concord, etc. I play a lot of golf courses in the Charlotte area so I can attest to that. And there are mountains near Charlotte especially as you get near Gastonia, Kings Mountain, etc...really in the metro.
I play here sometimes and it's very similar to what you'll see in Northern Atl.
On Friday I was in the Duke Energy tower uptown/downtown (maybe 45th floor)....the mountains, rolling hills are very visible on I-85 south towards Kings Mountain, I-77 points towards Hickory, and even the Uwharrie Mountains mountain range that start near Concord...Charlotte is surrounded by mountain ranges and foothill areas.

My oldest sister lived for years in a country club community in exurban Denver, NC. The area (West Lake Norman) was extremely hilly.
Charlotte doesn't have many posters that are active in the General U.S./City vs City subforums. Also the northern suburbs of Atlanta are closer to the mountains so you get more rolling terrain and even some mountain views in the exurbs whereas that's not really the case for any of Charlotte's suburbs/exurbs.
So are you saying that since Atlanta has many more active forumers comparatively, most of these polls or opinions will skew favorably towards Atlanta? Thus on CD it will rarely ever be underrated?

By the way, an underrated beauty is Charleston, WVA....
There are certainly hilly areas surrounding Charlotte; I didn't mean to imply that there weren't. The major difference is that metro Atlanta is closer to the Appalachian (Blue Ridge) Mountains themselves and the part of the metro that is closer to them (northern suburbs) is more populated and developed.
