Is this a new thing of a Federal holiday when a president dies? First time I heard of this was when Gerald Ford died late in 2006. I don't remember it when Nixon died in 1994.

Federal offices were closed for Nixon's funeral, just as they have for most all POTUS in recent or of old memory. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archi...=.09a24bf15ea2

This meaning some people better start wrapping their heads around the likely fact there will be a national day of mourning (with federal government mostly closed) for both Obama and Trump when their number is up.
