Columbus might attain 2% as steady rate. One thing to think about, is that Columbus is in a state of almost 12 million people. If people are going to stay in Ohio, Columbus tends to be the place to be. As the word gets out, I could see Columbus and Des Moines being the top draws for the next couple years.
Since 2010, Columbus' MSA has been growing at an annual average rate of 1.23%. Do you really think it can even approach a 2% rate as it gets larger? Personally, I think it would be a nice achievement if Columbus can just continue its current average rate as its base population grows. That said, the rate is probably more likely to go down than to go up as it grows.

As the word gets out on Columbus, people are going to gravitate towards it more. Will it be the next Austin, no but for a city that flies under the radar, it is clipping along at a pretty good rate.
The chance for Amazon, Hyperloop, logistics and continued growth in IT are going to help propel the city forward.
