Memphis- music- Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Justin Timberlake, WC Handy, BB King; I think just the blues in general (like how NOLA is Jazz)- more recently the Avett Brothers who live there and North Carolina (just cause of St. Jude stuff). Memphis is the city with the most songs about it
Medicine for cancer treatments (mainly St.Jude)
BBQ- seriously the best- Kansas City and Austin both had great bbq but personally I give it to Memphis hah.

Memphis in May festival
The Bison herd at Shelby Farms
Iconic bridge over the Mississippi into Arkansas
The ****ty roads

For political junkies, Memphis and Kansas City also compete in that field.

KC has Boss Tom Pendergast. Memphis has Ed Crump.

Both of them made Chicago's Daley machine look like a farm team.

I give the edge to Crump, but only by a thin margin. Of the three machines in question, only one launched a guy on the path to the White House: Boss Tom's. (When Harry S Truman arrived in Washington in 1934, wags called him "the Senator from Pendergast.")
