Only in the East End. The city across both rivers is going downhill fast. Mt. Washington and Allentown are war zones.

Please cite some examples of how Mt. Washington is a war zone? Also Brookline, which is across the river is one of the safest and most family friendly areas in the city.

As for the topic, Pgh population may go up a tick, but there are plenty of nooks in crannies in Pittsburgh that are still depopulating as the elderly pass away which may outpace the growth in other areas.

Apartments are not only going up in the East end. Downtown, the Strip, Station Sq, Southside are not the East End.

I think Buffalo and Pittsburgh might be interesting because their counties have turned the corner so maybe the cities too.

Also interested to see how close Austin gets to 1M or maybe surpasses

Edit: City
The Census estimates are out! Austin didn't quite surpass the 1 million mark just yet. The latest estimate for Austin stands at 950,715.

Chicago lost a bit over 3,000 in 2017 and the 2016 loss was revised from -8,000 to -4,000.

Pittsburgh did not turn it around, down to 302,000. Cincinnati will likely pass the city next year. They actually lost more people than Detriot, 3,000 vs 2,300.
