Assuming money or having a job is not an issue, which do you put greater weight on when picking a place to live in?
- People that you can get along with
- Good climate
Of course everyone has different types of people that they get along with best and have different preferences for climate (some like hot/cold weather, some like seasons, some like more humidity, others like less, etc.)
Climate is a big factor in choosing where to live but its not the biggest. My biggest factor in choosing a place to live is if i would be able to find a good church of Christ.....so i voted people in your poll, ragnarkar.
Probably climate, just because IME people don't differ that much from place to place.
People are DEFINITELY different in different places. You're saying people in cities like NYC and Philly are just like every other American? Not a chance lol
I prefer the personalities and attitudes of New Yorkers and Philadelphians over the politeness of Southerners and fakeness of West Coasters. Give me a blizzard or a sweltering heatwave in NYC/Philly that I can spend with people I enjoy being around. What's the point of having perfect weather if you have nobody to share it with?

I think the West Coast and Midwest fall somewhere between the fake hospitality of the South and the directness of the Northeast. For those of you who think people are pretty much the same everything, how many places have you lived in? I've lived on 3 different continents myself and can attest that people ARE different in different places, although there are some commonalities even among the most radically different people.
Climate would be the top factor if I was working a job that required most of the time to be spent outside. People would be the top factor if I was working a predominantly indoor job or a job that required some really good social skills (e.g. social services, teacher, customer service positions, etc.) Usually, the only weather that would severely impact the quality of life in an indoor job would be winter weather (getting to and from work) and severe weather (tornadoes, flash floods, damaging winds, etc). If you have A/C you are mostly shielded from it being 100F + all summer long.
Nothing beats the climate of the SoCal coast for me an average high of 70 for the summer months, and a high of 60 for winter months. Any place where you can live without ac year long is a place to be, im just realizing that this place exists.
