I always thought of it as some Southern hick town when I was growing up (in the 90s) and the place where JFK got shot and here I am living here now and loving it.
Actually, for me it’s the city I currently live in and post about the most - Seattle. I moved here in 2005 and was just expecting it to offer more and be more comparable to San Francisco. After 2-3 years though I began to understand the city a lot better. The various neighborhoods and nooks and crannies and how they all fit together. The unique culture, the vibe - it all just sort of clicked for me and now I love this city more than any place I’ve ever lived.
Oh and I was also very surprised to find out that I like many Ohio metro areas - Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, etc. I like Ohio - I think it's underrated.
