I was just curious...based on experiences of CD users, if I could get a general study of what car insurance premiums were based on states across the country...the least expensive to the most expensive.

I saw a ranking of states on this very subject several years ago. My recollection is that DC beat out all 50 states in terms of highest average car insurance premium. Not suprising when you consider that DC is a completely urban area and the likelihood of getting into a traffic accident in such a place is going to be pretty high over the long term. I recall that Number Two on the list was the state of Lousiana.

And also dont discount that DC has a very high crime rate in auto theft.

It looks like New Jersey just beats out D.C. by $2 a year on average. They have the chart for 2005 by state level and the figures for 2007 for cities. Scroll down the page there is a ton of stuff about this question.
