And before you say many cities, here is some of the criteria:

Substantial business activity
Ranked very highly nationally for safety at its size
Upscale and shiny in feel
Within commuting distance of major cities (LA and SD)
Mid rise buildings near SFR — edge city esque
Generally mild climate
Highly ranked schools from elementary to university

Plano TX, The Woodlands, TX, Reston, VA, Tysons Corner, VA, Columbia, MD, San Ramon, CA, Markham, Ontario, Sandy Springs, GA, Boca Raton, FL, Cary, NC, Rock Hill, SC, etc.

I know it's not the U.S., but if there's one big city anywhere just like Irvine, it's Singapore all the way.
