But realistically, we've become much more divided and segregated - where it counts - in this century. It's not a good and healthy trend. The walls are becoming obvious; and look at the biggest one intended. Hate and division are on the rise. The melting pot is heating up, with the goal of devaluing and disenfranchising those not in power and/or having ties with those in power. Wake up and take off those rosy glasses.
You are faceless to most people on these forums too. Anecdotes are not evidence and, while the link may be flawed, it gives more reasoning behind its claim than you did for your claim.

Disimilarity index doesn't give the full picture of race relations or total integration like a block by block analysis.

Phoenix probably have very few blocks where Blacks and Whites live together because it has a Black population under 7%. Its understandable why very few Black would have to move to achieve a mix of 7% Black.

After living in Las Vegas that is one of the most integrated cities it doesn't have a lot of Black culture compared to other cities.

Chicago has a lot of Black culture along with that comes more segregation and racial tension.

I am surprised Nashville isn't in the top 5 cities. Nashville and Charlotte are very good examples of cities without a lot of racial tension along with some Black culture. Just my observation travelling and moving around way too much.

Remember significant Black culture usually means more segregation and higher racial tensions. Less Black culture means less racial tensions. Anyone Black person can experience racism anywhere. Depending on how covert and overt the culture is in that particular place. Black experience is different in every city.

There are many cities down south that have huge black populations that are still more integrated than cities like Chicago winch have really only had Blacks for the last 100 years. Charlotte, and Raleigh were cities founded on Slavery, and are still much more integrated than the Northern cities.

I grew up in Raleigh in the 90's and early 2000's and never knew it was so unique until I started traveling to other cities and towns in the country. Truly a diamond in the rough along with a few others. Overall it looks to stay that way and looks like other areas are mixing it up now as well we all have a lot to learn from one another and for the sake of future generations.

I don't see anything wrong if anybody of any race wants to live in a segregated neighborhood. That doesn't make a person a bigot or prejudiced. It's just that some people are more comfortable being around their own kind and have little to no real interest in diversifying. They are still polite and respectful and fair to all people and have no hatred in their heart for people of other races.
