Mr. Focker, maybe I'm just more perceptive than you. I grew up in DC area, and have lived both north and south of it. My perception is pretty evenly balanced I think...
Don't distract from you being wrong. You said no one from DC area thinks its southern, wrong, you SUBURBANITES hate the notion of DC being called southern. In real life, actual people from The District sure, don't introduce themselves as southern but they certainly don't go on these bitchfests you guys go on here, if someone brings it up...
I bring up Richmond because you often try to make points for DC that also apply to Richmond, so its introducing some depth into some shallow counterpoints that you make...
Pot meet kettle? You've been banging the DC is southern drum loud and proud. Doesn't seem as transparent among the DMV area residents.
It's like he wants Richmond to be associated with DC. The only association is they're close to each other and were respective capitals during the civil war. One for the south, one for the north. But hey, they're both the south!!
Several people from Richmond worked with me when I was in DC. They considered Richmond the beginning of the south, and DC just the north/mid atlantic.
Bro you're from Texas, don't even try to assume the handful of people you knew are representative of the entire populous, especially to those of us who grew up in the area...
By the way, I grew up in both areas but I'm a California native, with no ties, family, anything other than I went to primary school out here. As it is, the majority of DC and Richmond natives recognize the kinship. You're from Texas, and didn't grow up here, so it isn't a surprise that you don't get it lol...

Lived in Texas, SC, Denver, DC. You can wish it all you want, but the DMV area is not the south. Sorry. I mean it could be in your head, but nationally, nobody thinks that.

You have a point? Yes, I need to stay away from this topic, it's been burned into the ether, in fact I think CD needs a moratorium banning is DC, or Maryland, or VA, or Kentucky, or WV, are these places southern/northern? MAKE A MORATORIUM BANNING THESE THREADS FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS.
Because every version of this thread turns into all of us repeating ourselves (you, me, Focker, everyone) and no ones opinion changes. So maybe you and I are in the same boat with this one, whether we want to be or not (and you too, Focker)...
Ban any thread on DMV along these lines. Its past overdue...
