This list only confirms that an outsiders perspective on what makes a city special is limited. The same can be said for all of us posters on C-D. We only know what we’ve experienced. E.g the bean is literally the last thing I recommend someone do when visiting Chicago, but it’s the first landmark to pop up on google. Ask a typical Chicagoan what makes the city special, and exactly 0 people would mention the bean.
So, give everyone here an insiders perspective on the cities you’ve lived in. Name your personal favorite to-do for outsiders. The coolest areas to check out that may be more unknown? Your favorite neighborhood places to eat? Drink? Hidden spot for live music? Consider niche qualities/characteristics of the city in your recommendations.
