Any interstate in South Carolina. Those jokers take their speed limits seriously.

Larinburg is a good 2hrs from Charlotte, I know firsthand being that I live in Richmond Country and it takes about an hr and 45 minutes to get to Charlotte thanks to being no freeway between Rockingham and Charlotte.

Interstate 40 from Nashville to Memphis
Nothing but lil Jackson to break up the mostly rural drive.

Interstate 64 from Louisville, KY to Evansville, IN.
Not many places to stop and really not much to see, especially after the Hoosier National Forest. Becomes very flat.

Interstate 71 from Columbus to Cleveland, OH. Feels so much longer than it should for some reason.

Who said it wasn't beautiful? Not me, WV is a very beautiful state.

However, the topic of the thread is "states that feel longer to drive through border than border than it would seem", not anything to do with how beautiful or ugly the state is. I feel like this with I-77 in WV because of the constant upgrades, downgrades, twists, and turns. It is exhausting to drive through as opposed to a flat highway traversing a flat state and therefore feels like it takes much longer than it does. And even with the natural beauty of WV, which is considerable, after about the 300th mountain/hill covered with trees they really do begin to all look alike. By the time we get close to the Virginia border traveling southbound it feels like the mileage signs are posted about every five miles but read like this: "Bluefield 75 miles"..."Bluefield 74 miles"..."Bluefield 73 miles"...you get the idea.

Just one person's opinion, not meant to knock WV at all, it is a lovely state that gets enough undeserved abuse.

CONNECTICUT I-95!

I may be biased because my family drives to Boston from Philadelphia at least once a year. The trip entails driving through 6 States and takes nearly 6 Hours (~300 Miles) yet over half of the trip is driving in Connecticut---Seriously you are in Connecticut for almost 4 hours---15 Min in PA, 1 Hour in New Jersey, 30 Min in New York, 3.5 Hours in Connecticut, 30 Minutes in Rhode Island and 15 Minutes in Massachusetts.

Also---it is the most boring part of the drive--New Haven and the Mexican Food Trucks are the only salvation.

The traffic in that part of the country doesn't help either

Virginia can feel long on I-95, you can be surprised how much there is between Richmond and North Carolina.

Florida is also much longer/larger than I realized, especially the distance from the Georgia border to Jacksonville and then Jacksonville to Titusville and Cape Canaveral.
