Imagine wanting to play for Dolan or Wilpon because they were in New York
Imagine wanting to play for Sterling (back then) simply because he was in LA.
Imagine wanting to play for Dan Snyder...as a Skins fan I wouldn’t even play for him lol

Depending on the sport I'd probably go somewhere in Florida, Atlanta, Denver, San Diego, or Seattle. Would have no desire to play/live in any big markets like LA, San Fran, Chicago, NYC, Philly, Boston, DC, Dallas, or Houston. And if I had that much money I don't think I want me live in a small market mid-west town either.

There’s something to be said for being a folk-hero in NYC. The New York fans are THIRSTY for a superstar, and they’re fiercely loyal. I think I could put up with Dolan for the opportunity to be a minor deity in New York.

Milwaukee or Salt Lake just because. Maybe Minneapolis. Kinda places I'd live anyway as a regular working stiff.

1. Boston
2. Pittsburgh
3. Columbus - even though the coach needs some Prozac.

Not being a top tier free agent I would only get a call from the dumpster fire that is the Senators, so Ottawa it is.

I'd want to play for a chance at a championship, or at least has the potential to be title contenders in the near future. If one of those teams happen to play in a low tax state, it's icing on the cake.

That being said California, Philly and NY are off my list regardless.

If I were that good I would want to prove it and take a non-traditional team from a city not accustomed to every egocentric star wants to play in...not the NYCs/LAs of the world in other words. The NBA is probably the most impactful sport for one player to push a team over the edge and would say a team like the Indiana Pacers or Sacramento Kings would be fun to push into elite championship status in terms of the media and local fan base.

For NBA, NY(due to what gladhands mentioned-they are seriously thirsty), Detroit, Philadelphia, Denver(nice young team too) and a sleeper pick Sacramento(again, due to very young team with a lot of talent).

For NFL, Chicago, Seattle, Buffalo(again mega thirsty, as well as very loyal), Carolina/Charlotte and Tennessee/Nashville.

Probably Tampa out of the major sports leagues.
