Not much is filmed in Seattle these days. But lots of stuff filmed in Vancouver is set here.
It's usually a surprise to me. I'll be watching something and oh look, it's set here or we have a cameo.
For all Vancouver's greatness as a city, for all its continued prominence, and given its huge film industry, it sure doesn't play itself very often at least that I've noticed.

We were downtown a couple of weeks ago and a group next to us were participating in a treasure hunt with an Anchorman theme which I thought was pretty funny.
Since you went with Anchorman, I am going with Traffic (2000) which was set partially in San Diego and Tijuana (along with Washington DC, Ohio and Mexico City). I really love this movie which has scenes in downtown San Diego, La Jolla, what appears to be Mission Bay and Avenida Revolucion in TJ. Babel (2006) also was based partially in the San Diego and Tijuana area with a cross border scene, although I did not enjoy this movie as much as Traffic.

I agree with you, I guess if you want that Southern California feel, you film in Los Angeles. It is mentioned quite a bit in firms that are set in LA. San Diego seems is more likely to appear in movies or TV if there is some sort of cross border scene.
I don’t ever think we saw Barney partying up in Raleigh, but we certainly were a part of the background noise in Mayberry whenever anyone had to go to a place bigger than Mt. Pilot.
Never say never: 1980's 21 Jump Street was set in Vancouver and filmed there. Ah, never mind: was set in fictional town in U.S.
I'm always checking where a film or tv show I'm watching is shot. I guess my interest started years ago when there was an American made for TV movie that took place in Seattle. Yet, there was Marlo Thomas walking along the seawall in Vanier Park with the west end and the mountains as a backdrop. Seattle doesn't look like that. I wondered how people in Seattle felt? My guess the same disappoint that I did.
It can be funny. Especially when someone goes on about how beautiful a place is because they saw it in a movie, only to find out, it wasn't filmed there at all.
