My guy has a fascination with Dolly Parton. I mean who doesn't love Dolly? In fact I consider hating on Dolly a serious character flaw and a little less than human. So I just googled where Dollywood is.
Say it isn't so. I've been told we must got to Dollywood somedcay, because.. you know, Dolly! Pigeon Forge is that bad? Wow. Is Gatlinburg tacky too?
It's tacky but if you know what you are getting into it should be ok for making that Dollywood pilgrimage! Gatlinburg isn't quite as bad because it's a small little strip in the mountains you can walk around in. Pigeon Forge you can't even really walk between all the crazy attractions.
The real terrifying thing about the place is how many people are there who don't seem to realize it's horrible. Seriously, tons of people love pigeon forge and Gatlinburg without any hint of irony. It must not be that bad..

Lots of potential candidates, but these are some of the "best":
Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg
Atlantic City (to an extent; to another extent, it just feels impoverished, although the crime rate isn't TOO bad for the amount of poverty there)
Myrtle Beach
New Braunfels
Niagara Falls
Wildwood, NJ (not in the same level as the others, but...)
Ocean City, MD, is many things, but I mostly wouldn't call it kitschy. I'm not a big fan though.
When thinking of what defines kitsch, Las Vegas clearly takes the cake. What other cities in the US could be characterized as kitschy? Cities, tourist towns, or particular neighborhoods that could be considered garish but paired with nostalgia. Places littered with bric a brac, neon, and cheeky attractions. Reno and Atlantic City also come to mind but beyond that I'm just curious what other cities would you consider to be kitschy?
Austin?
"keep Austin weird" so I'm just guessing it's probably a weird place lol
There is no kitsch in Miami and am pretty sure you don't quite have the definition down. Miami is a world class city that's fairly sophisticated, and think the only thing you might be confusing with kitsch is Miami Beach's extensive art deco architecture...which is nowhere near kitschy.
