Always smile that Berkshire Hathaway has not left Nebraska.

I'm assuming this only includes publicly traded companies and doesn't include private or not for profits (IE ... Cleveland Clinic, which I imagine would easily be no. 1 in Ohio).

You think the Cleveland Clinic has more than $136 billion in revenue?

I don't see much significance to where the HQ is located, especially for a holding company like Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha.

Very interesting list. My gosh, look at WalMart in Arkansas.

Why does that depress me? LOL On so many levels.

It shouldn't be depressing, it's a huge corporation so of course it is their highest grossing business.

Honestly, don't know.

But saw it reclaimed its spot as Ohio's largest employer (over Walmart) with some 50,000 employees here (not counting the employees from out of state and out of country hospitals), I'm assuming it brings a boat load of revenue, though it being a non profit, I'm guessing the books show it breaks even.

Wikipedia says the Cleveland Clinic system did $9 billion in patient revenue last year.

Fair enough. Though I'm guessing (maybe someone more versed in how revenue is calculated can chime in) but its non profit status knocks that down.

Overall, though, it's the state's largest employer and a good chunk of that is high wage jobs. Unlike Walmart (Ohio's no. 2 employer which is heavily leaned to the low waged side here).
