Santa Fe does have a high concentration of wealth but it's certainly not exclusively wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. There are definitely middle class and lower income areas as well.

Napa has middle class neighbourhood, but that being said, it's a fairly long commute to any decent paying jobs. That is, unless you work in winery.

I've known very ordinary working stiffs that lived in Sedona, Santa Fe and Palm Beach. I've lived m yself, as a low wage working stiff or retiree in places with home values more than double those of the statewide average, including Aptis CA, Falmouth Foreside ME and Suttons Bay MI.

Playgrounds for the rich aren't just limited to the West. Heck, Mountain Brook, AL is home to one of (possibly THE) highest amount of millionaires, per capita in the country. It's home to some VERY big-name surgeons and lawyers.

Jupiter Island, FL may be the richest.

Some towns in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and The Mainline in Pennsylvania. I'm not as familiar with the West Coast but would think La Jolla and Newport Beach, Laguna.

I wouldn't name Sedona wealthy. Property is high since it's a big vacation spot but I know many poorer people in Sedona who are trying to become artists. Believe me, they aren't wealthy by any means, but they work in the tourism industry supplying the few wealthy who visit. As with many tourist-oriented cities (like Las Vegas and Honolulu) it's a lot of low wages for the natives (because the tourism industry is pretty low-paying) but high property-value because of tourists raising the prices for their vacation homes. I'm sure there are other small towns like that as well. Heavenly, by Lake Tahoe, seemed to be like that as well.

The wealthy are always one step ahead of the media in terms of where they're living. They certainly don't want you to know.

Yeah in Sedona there's the blue collar wage earners, of course, the "travelers" playing hackey sack bumming money to feed their dogs, and a ton of wealthy people's second homes, wealthy retirees, the place is swimming in money.
