Hello, my wife, 4 kids, dogs and myself are ready for a new place to live that has beautiful scenery, 4 seasons (snow included), a good job market, low crime rate, 1700 plus sf homes for around 200k to 250k. We currently subside in central TX. My wife and i have done so much research online and cant seem to get everything in 1. Would appreciate any suggestions, ideas very much. Colorado was number 1 on our list in the beginning but we have found that housing is out of our price range.

Central Texas is awesome, be careful what you wish for. I know you ruled out Colorado already, but we lived in Austin for 4 years and Texas is better in almost every way with the mountains being the obvious exception. We won't be in Colorado for much longer.
