I am an American. My people came to America from Europe after the Civil War, I've always been an American. We have never thought of ourselves as "rebels" or yankees". Those who continue to foster this kind of divisiveness 150 years after the War need to learn some things about what patriotism is really all about.
Looks like I'm 50/50 Dixie/Yankee (it actually said "50% Dixie, barely in Yankeedom"). Culturally I identify more with most things "Yankee" but I'm cool with some things that are on the Southern side sometimes. I'm a born and raised Marylander from the DMV (DC area), so it looks like that 50/50 scoring might come off as appropriate lol.
57% reb on the first, but the more advanced test rooted out the yank in me.
It did make me realize I tend to modify my speech somewhat. When I'm at home it's "some darn fool ran their shopping cart into me at the grocery store", in public it's "ma'am could you move your buggy please so I can get by?"
Kind of tricky to answer some of the questions because of that.
Advanced test: 13% Dixie. Wow! You are a Duke of Yankeedom!
(I live in Alabama BTW)
