What is more important to you: a job, or the location in which you live?
Would you be more likely to move for a good job, or move to live in a certain state/city/area that you love, and find a job (not good, not bad) in that area.

I'm curious about your thoughts. I guess the ideal thing is to have the best of both worlds.

depending on what the job is, it would have to be really darn high paying job to move me out of my location.

Location always comes first because you can always be in an area that does not allow you to enjoy the money you make

Plus, jobs come and go, and the location is more constant.

For me being fresh out of college from a not-so-prestigous school, getting that first job was the most important as long as the location wasn't somewhere absolutely horrible. When I get more experience, and if I decide to move on, then location will be the most important.

Did you first decide where to live, and then look for a job, or did you look for the the best job opportunities, then the location?

Location from here on out. Got transferred to Columbus Ohio because I love my job, however never again will I do that. I can't stand Ohio, especially the long drawn out winters and cloudy weather. A poster had it right when they said it doesn't matter how much money you make if you can't enjoy it in a place you dislike.

This is a good thread- I have a good job in another town if I want it about 2 1/2 hours from where I live now, with my in-laws company,I lived in that town for 2 years and hated it and so I moved to Albuquerque where I love it, I cant seem to find a good job here in ABQ right now but I dont know if its worth it to move to a town that I hate for many reasons to make descent money.
