LOL ..... NYC needs more ART DECO INSPIRED TOWERS. Heck, a NYC Architect..... 79-yr old Robert A.M. Stern. Gave Chicago a 70-story LUXURY. Condo and Apt building with all the trimmings and perks and a Park built to gain city approval.

Let floors real granite exterior. But then it goes to concrete exterior.

Still looks awesome and still a skinny footprint ..... though by Chicago standards.

Great picture of it topped off a couple years ago.

The one with the CRAIN yet on top..... as it has been topped off

NYC having more Art Deco lite towers like this on elsewhere. At 70 stories but still near Super-Tall status.
Works great here in Chicago. Should NYC do more too? It is slender but bit more than a pencil.

Builders link, examples, close-up exteriors and inside pricing for sale and rent.

I don't know how much is sold or rented so far ...... but generally a good % is sold condos or sought Apt's. Before construction starts. Chicago does not overbuild. Once vacancies reach a certain point...... a boom period slows for absorbing the space.

Photo ..... again Tower mentioned is toward the
right with Crane still on top .... but topped-off.... .

Chicago's new construction is both elegant and transformative. The new skyscrapers, Chicago is building are unique and really help keep the city as the most architecturally advanced in America. Im not a fan of what NYC is throwing out. Hudson Yards looks terrifying, the skinny Central Park Towers are ugly as all hell... Vistas, One Bennett, Tribune Tower and among others.

Forgive me .... but do you think the One Bennett Place in a kinda retro Art Deco is ugly? Or even the Vista (nothing Deco about it) and of course ... the Tribune Super-Tall never broke ground yet (depends on Chicago need and our economy if built). By i'm not Crazy on that sleek one..... But generally like them better when I literally see them completed.

One Bennett Place by a NYC Architect (rare in Chicago I like). Of course I couldn't afford it. But like the retro Art Deco look anyway and not just glass exterior that gets old..... pun intended.

I was just using One Bennett Place as a better example by a NYC Architect as a better then the Pencil ones in look. Why not in NYC too.....
